Marine Naturalist/Operations Agent
In this role, you will provide commentary and information about marine mammals and local wildlife, engaging with guests and offering an educational, enjoyable, and safe experience on the water. You will also support daily operations, including marketing, media, scheduling, and guest services.
Deckhand duties are an important part of the position, which include assisting with docking and departures, handling lines, maintaining vessel cleanliness, and helping ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers.
Flexibility and availability on weekends and holidays is essential, as we operate seven days a week. Marine biology or boating experience, guiding background, and marine certifications are considered strong assets.
Marine Captain
As a Captain with White Rock Sea Tours, you are responsible for the safe, compliant, and enjoyable operation of our vessels on each excursion. You must hold appropriate certifications, have strong boating experience, and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Navigate and operate our vessels according to Transport Canada regulations
- Perform manoeuvring, docking, anchoring, and line handling tasks
- Maintain vessel safety and compliance, including monitoring weather and sea conditions
- Assist the crew with pre-departure checks
- Deliver a premium guest experience through clear communication and professional conduct
Essential qualifications include:
- Valid Transport Canada certification (SVOP, MED A1/A2, ROC-MC, Marine Basic First Aid CPR C or equivalent)
- Proven boating or maritime background, preferably in whale watching or marine eco-tours
- Strong leadership, guest-service orientation, and team collaboration
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts
