Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q1: Will we see whales?
  • Yes, we guarantee it. We are members of the Pacific Whale Watch Association (PWWA).

  • Q2: Where do we go?
  • Across the Straight of Georgia to the breathtaking Gulf and San Juan Islands, where we watch whales and other wildlife in their natural habitat. It is an unforgettable trip of a lifetime!

  • Q3: How long is the trip?
  • Every trip is different as we explore the Canadian Gulf Islands, the US San Juan Islands, and beyond, in search of whales and other wildlife. Our trips are typically three to five hours.

  • Q4: What does it cost?
  • The rate for this unforgettable adventure tour is $175/person. Availability is limited. All rates are in Canadian currency and subject to the 5% Goods and Services Tax.

  • Q5: When do we leave?
  • We depart at the end of the White Rock Pier at 12 p.m. Please arrive 10 minutes before departure.

  • Q6: How do I book my adventure?
  • We make it easy! We recommend that you book online or at our presentation tent on the pier. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call us at (604) 868-1755.

  • Q7: What should I bring?
  • We encourage you to bring sunscreen, a bottle of water, snacks, money for the break, a camera, and an enthusiasm for adventure! Space is limited so pack light. Do not bring alcohol or drugs.

We are sometimes visited by police or the coast guard on the water, so be sure to also bring your ID.

  • Q8: What should I wear?
  • We recommend that you wear sunglasses, waterproof boots or closed-toed shoes at the least, a hat suitable for fast open boats (such as a toque/beanie), gloves, a fleece jacket, and long pants.

  • Q9: Where can I park?
  • White Rock charges $3/hour parking fees.

Unfortunately, parking along Marine Drive is limited to four hours and our whale watching adventures are three to five hours. One solution is to park behind the Washington Avenue Grill where it is $6 for the full day. This gives you a nice 15 – 20-minute walk along the White Rock Promenade to the Pier.

Parking is free uptown at the top of the hill. Consider getting a ride or take a bus/taxi part way.

  • Q10: Are there any restrictions?
  • Please note that our trips are weather-dependent, and we reserve the right to postpone trips or change boats due to weather or mechanical problems. If your trip is postponed, we will assist you in reserving a future date. Trips are not refundable nor are they recommended for those with health concerns. Please call us if you have questions.

  • Q11: What if I have other questions?
  • Please give us a call at (604) 868-1755. We are more than happy to answer any questions you have.
