2020 Vancouver Whale Watching Season – The Highlights Part III

Now that fall is upon us, let’s say goodbye to the summer season and kick off the fall with the third and final blog of our three-part blog series highlighting our 2020 Vancouver whale watching season. Our first two blogs of the season covered our favourite humpback whale sightings and orca sightings of the season. In this blog, we’ll highlight some more of our favourite memories of the season, and if you make it to the end, you’ll learn about the great deal we have for the fall!

As we said throughout the season, we really appreciated the support of our local community, and especially this season it was nice to see the community including, other local White Rock and South Surrey businesses supporting each other. So when White Rock and South Surrey RE/MAX Little Oak Realtor, Daisy Chohan, asked to come for a ride-along to interview Andrew for a piece for the website, Park Bench, we were delighted.

Ride-along with Daisy Chohan

In June, Daisy joined Andrew aboard the Spartan 01 to interview him for the Park Bench website. Park Bench is a network of neighbourhood websites, each sponsored by a community-minded real estate professional; Daisy Chohan sponsors the White Rock Park Bench site.  Here’s Daisy’s interview; they chat about how Andrew got started and how White Rock Sea Tours, along with a network of other like companies, work together to take care of the whales.

New Protocol and New Shorter Trips

In June, we announced that we were adding another trip to our tour line-up – a 90-minute Boundary Bay Sea Lion Tour. This tour is perfect for families with young children who may find our 3-5 hour whale tour adventure a bit too long. We stay closer to home, exploring the surrounding scenery of Boundary Bay to watch steller sea lions, bald eagles, and harbour seals. With more families looking for things to do locally, we’re happy to provide this option. Although our Whale Watching Trip is our most popular trip, don’t underestimate the sea lion, they are also pretty entertaining to watch. Special thanks to  Marine Naturalist, Grace Baer for taking these photos.
